Halloween Spooks, Dog Jogs, and Grove Investments: Your Redlands Weekend Awaits

From Citrus Heritage to Coffee Culture, Plus Live Music, Community Fun, and What to Do About That IRS Letter

This weekend brings Halloween spirit, live music, and community celebrations across our beloved City of Beautiful Homes.

From the eighth annual Dog Jog supporting our Animal Shelter on Saturday to spooky festivities and fresh coffee at the new RoadRunner Coffee on State Street, Redlands is buzzing with activity.

The City Council is investing $2.3 million to keep our iconic citrus groves thriving, while downtown comes alive with farmers markets, live music at The Three Stags and Vault Martini Bar, and theatrical performances. Plus, don't miss the Redlands Halloween Light Show running nightly through October 31st!

Whether you're a longtime resident or new to town, there's something for everyone this weekend.

Let's dive into what's happening around the groves...

🌳 AROUND THE GROVES

The Redlands City Council approved $14,648 in city resources and in-kind support for the eighth annual Dog Jog, hosted by the Redlands Chamber of Commerce on October 26.

Temporary street closures were approved, and the event was deemed exempt from environmental review.

The Chamber, established in 1893, supports the business community, with over 550 members aiming to promote the local economy and community initiatives.

In-kind support will cover various services and facility fees, with proceeds supporting the Redlands Animal Shelter.

The Dog Jog route will traverse several streets downtown, with city officials ensuring minimal disruptions and a smooth event flow.

City Invests $2.3M in Keeping Our Groves Thriving

Redlands wouldn't be Redlands without our iconic citrus groves. Last week, the City Council approved a $2.3 million contract with Larry Jacinto Farming to provide as-needed farming services for city-owned groves.

This is a significant investment in preserving the agricultural heritage that defines our community. From the scent of orange blossoms in spring to the historic groves that dot our landscape, citrus farming is woven into the fabric of who we are.

It's great to see the city putting resources behind keeping that tradition alive for generations to come.

Business Spotlight

In a world of corporate coffee chains, a local independent coffee shop is a treasure. This week, we're shining a spotlight on RoadRunner Coffee, which just opened its doors on State Street.

Taking over the space at 204 E. State Street, RoadRunner Coffee is bringing fresh energy to downtown Redlands.

Whether you're grabbing your morning cup before work, meeting a friend for an afternoon pick-me-up, or just looking for a cozy spot to read or work, RoadRunner Coffee is here to serve. It's more than just a place to buy coffee; it's a place to connect with neighbors, support local business, and be part of the vibrant downtown community.

In a town that values its local character, RoadRunner Coffee is a perfect fit. Stop by this week and welcome them to the neighborhood!
