Redlands Animal Shelter has broken ground on a new modular kennel expansion, a major step for local pets and families alike.

With deep ties to the shelter, many residents—including families like ours—have found beloved companions here, such as our gentle German Shepherd, Bear, who thrived in his new home after adoption.

The expansion adds 24 climate-controlled kennels with outdoor areas, promising safer, more comfortable spaces for animals awaiting adoption.

Mayor Pro Tem Marc Shaw praised the improvements for elevating care and boosting the shelter’s ability to serve more homeless pets.

Currently, 49 animals—dogs and cats of all types—are looking for families at the 504 Kansas Street facility, with walk-in visits welcome during business hours.

Every successful adoption is a testament to Redlands’ compassion, and the new kennels represent brighter futures for pets and adopters alike.
