Classic Car Weekend Returns to State Street |
Mark your calendars, car lovers — the Redlands Classic Car Show is back this Saturday, October 18th, and it's going to be bigger than ever. Downtown State Street will be lined with vintage Mustangs, Corvettes, hot rods, and beautifully restored classics from the '30s through the '80s. Local car clubs from across the Inland Empire are rolling in, and the whole block turns into a rolling museum of chrome, leather, and American horsepower.
What makes this year special? The show is partnering with Escape Craft Brewery and The Mitten Building for a "Cars & Crafts" after-party starting at 3 PM — live rockabilly music, cold beer, and a chance to vote for your favorite ride. Kids get free ice cream from The Creamery, and there's a special tribute section honoring Redlands veterans who served in WWII, with vintage military vehicles on display. If you've never been, trust me, it's one of those events that reminds you why small-town California is the best. Bring your camera, bring your family, and bring an appetite because the food trucks are out in full force. From classic BBQ to gourmet tacos, you won't go hungry. |

🎯 YOUR REDLANDS WEEKEND |
If you've lived in Redlands for more than five minutes, you know Cuca's Mexican Restaurant. And if you don't know Cuca's yet, well, you're about to discover your new favorite spot. Full disclosure: Cuca is my aunt, my mom's younger sister, and I couldn't be more proud of what she's built over the past four decades. Fun Facts About Cuca: 🌮 Over 40 years of serving Redlands families, that's longer than many restaurants survive in any city, let alone in one community. 👨👩👧👦 Three generations of our family have worked in that kitchen. It's not just a restaurant; it's a family legacy.| 🎉 Cuca's famous BRC and carne asada have been fueling Redlands' celebrations, family dinners, and Tuesday night cravings since the Reagan administration. ❤️ Cuca herself is one of the hardest-working, most generous people you'll ever meet. She treats every customer like they're sitting at her own dinner table. 📍 Located at 527 E State St, downtown, with plenty of parking and a patio perfect for fall evenings. Whether you're grabbing takeout for the family, meeting friends for margaritas and chips, or just treating yourself to the best Mexican food in the Inland Empire, Cuca's is the place. Liz and I are regulars (obviously), and we can personally vouch for everything on the menu. Visit Cuca's Website | Call for Reservations: (909) 793-8878 Tell them Carlos sent you. And if you see Aunt Cuca, give her a hug for me. |
🚗 Redlands Classic Car Show📅 Saturday, October 18th, 9 AM – 3 PM This is the event of the weekend, folks. Hundreds of vintage cars, live music, food trucks, and a real sense of community. Liz and I will be there around 10 AM with coffee in hand, probably geeking out over a '67 Camaro. Bring the kids — there's a whole section just for them with face painting and classic car coloring books. 🍊 Insider Tip: Park at the Redlands Mall and take the free shuttle — it drops you right on State Street and you skip the parking headache.
🎭 "Misery" at California Weekend— This WEEKEND only!📅 Friday & Saturday, October 17th–18th, 7:30 PM / Sunday Matinee 2 PM If you missed last week's newsletter, this is the psychological thriller you don't want to miss. Based on Stephen King's bestseller, "Misery" tells the chilling story of novelist Paul Sheldon held captive by his "number one fan." The performances are intense, the staging is brilliant, and it's the kind of show that'll have you talking about it all week. Liz and I are catching the Saturday night performance — maybe we'll see you there. Fair warning: it's edge-of-your-seat stuff, not for the faint of heart! 🎃 Kimberly Crest Harvest Days📅 Daily through October 26th, 1–4 PM One of the prettiest spots in Redlands just got even prettier. Pumpkin patches, Victorian-era garden tours, and hayrides through the historic estate. It's like stepping back in time, and the views from the hilltop are unbeatable. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon stroll. 🍂 Redlands Farmers Market📅 Saturday, October 18th, 8 AM – 12 PM Fresh citrus, homemade tamales, local honey, handmade soaps, and live acoustic guitar. This is where Redlands comes alive on Saturday mornings. Grab a breakfast burrito from the taco stand and just soak in the vibe. ☕ Brunch at Auggie's Coffee House📅 Sunday, October 19th, 8 AM – 2 PM If you haven't had Auggie's avocado toast or their signature breakfast sandwich, you're missing out. Great coffee, even better food, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger with a book. Liz loves their seasonal quiche, and I'm all about the chorizo scramble. |
